Holi 2016

India, a country where you'd discover a festival in each month of the calendar. Throwing of colours is savoured with delicious Holi specialties like Gujiya, Puran Poli, Malpuas and downed with glasses of Thandai ”. In some parts of India especially Mathura and Barsana, Holi celebrations last for almost a week. {Why we celebrate Holi|History of Holi|Holi 2016} Holi festival is celebrated by the people of Hindu religion all over the India especially in North India in the month of March. The main event is the next day when people who play” Holi pain each other's faces and bodies with colored powder or throw colored water at each other from buckets and water balloons. Holi festival falls every year in the spring season in the month of Falgun (or March). Holi pictures and Holi greetings will be spread all around the world for celebrating Holi in 2016. Another local twist is Laddoo Holi durng which Sweets are thrown around and spiritual songs related to Radha and Krishna are sung. Holika did so but unfortunately she died in the fire and Prahlad was saved by the Lord. Holi is one of the most vibrant festivals of India and people clamour the markets to buy abeers, gulals (powder colors), water balloons and pichkaris (water guns). According to the Hindu mythology, Holika Dahan should be performed at night having full moon. This follows the Hindu festival of Holi; Hola is the masculine form of the feminine noun Holi. It's a celebration of spring, of unity and brotherhood and — like many festivals in India — of the triumph of good over evil. Like all Indian and Hindu festivals, Holi is inextricably linked to mythical tales and commemorates the victory of good over evil. Mumbai's people love to celebrate Holi in a traditional way as well as in modern style. Celebrating Holi in the Russian capital is not only a festive occasion, but like anything that involves the small Indian community, it is a chance to get to socialise and network. Generally, a log of wood will be kept in a prominent public place on the Vasantapanchami day (Magha Sukla Panchami), almost 40 days before the Holi festival. Holi parties are quite the norm among those who take their enjoyment seriously. The first day of Holi is known as Jalanewali Holi or Chhoti Holi or Holika Dahan. Since then, it's a tradition to burn Holika every year to celebrate the victory of good over evil in this world. Like a pressure cooker might explode if not taken care to let out some steam, likewise the festival of Holi serves the same in our psychological make-up. Rangwali Holi which is main Holi day is also known as Dhulandi or Dhulendi (धुलण्डी). Holi is a festival of colorful faces and Pichkari (water gun) in the hands of little kids. Holi is a festival which comes in spring season, the season of joy and happiness.
